Why theatre? Why workshop?

A theatre workshop is involving participants in a special training to develop spontaneity, creativity, to reach the meeting concept of being together, to be capable to welcome the others and feel wellcome themselves in the most true and deep theatrical reality of them, as homini ludentis.

Theatre is chalenging people’s perception about the world and about themselves . Theatre developes comunication in a very practical aspect of it : people who participate in theatre workshops are less likely to have dificulties speaking in public, they will be more persuasive in their comunication and will have better pozitive and confident self image. They will learn to cooperate, to work in a team (our world is increasingly team-oriented) will develope tolerance and empathy and the understanding of the way human beings, from all over the world, interact.

İts well known that theatre representation, more than an estetic value has therapeutic values too. Physical exercises, suported by relaxation techniques as well as creative exercises cause the participants to free themselves of their emotional barriers. Taking part in the drama process gives the participants the ability to express their view of the world in an uninhibited way and in a non-competitive enviorement. Working with the body (its emotions and awareness) free even the most deeply rooted emotions. These emotions can be expressed on the stage in a fully controlled manner and they can be fully asimilated, being harmfull nomore, turning into a creative process.

WWW. ROMEO&JULİET.ARA.COM brings in your attention fragments and theatrical situations from the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Stimuluses like live music ( a ney and an electric guitar), projected colours ,shapes, images and videos will energize the participants and give them a direction of approach. The workshop is structured mostly on games and creative exercises during 4 hours, confering a relaxed and joyfull atmosphere.

When the participants present an equal level of commitment they can fully, honestly, and openly take part in a mutual creation on the stage.

Kavramsal Çerçeve: Atölye, Shakespeare’in Romeo ve Juliet oyununa özel bir yolculuk olarak tasarlanmış, herkese açık, duyumsal ve etkileşimli bir çalışmadır. 2 veya 3 aktör, katılımcıların oyuna dahil olması için yardımcı olacaktır. Müzik rahatlamanızı sağlarken, Türkçe olarak kaydedilmiş önermeler katılımcıları başta basit, giderek daha komplike egzersizler yapmaya yöneltecektir. Bu ise teatral sürecin kurulmasını sağlayacak, tüm egzersizler Romeo ve Juliet oyununa ve mekânın, duyumların ve karakterlerin farkındalığını artırmaya yönelik yapılacaktır. Herkes içeridedir. Mekânda izleyici yoktur.
Görseller, filmler ve fotografların yansıtılması, müzik ve bunların yanında internet üzerinden gelen bazı karakterler, katılımcıların hayalgücüne kafa tutan ve bu uyarıcılara cevap vermelerini gerektiren bir interaktivite sağlayacaklar. Hayal gücünü genişleten, eğlendiren ve Shakespeare’in oyunu hakkında bilgi veren yeni büyük bir deneyim aslında bu çalışma.

Luigi Pirandello, oyun karakterlerini, oyunculuk 'maske'sinden ayırıp seyircinin önüne
çıkaran ilk yazardı.
Pirandello’nun oyunlarının arkasındaki anafikir, insanların belirli bir duruma hayat vermeye çalışmaları, ancak bu anlayışın yanılsamalar yarattığı düşüncesidir. Çünkü hayat, gerçek, zaman akışkandır ve tanımlanamaz. Bazen insanoğlu, düşüncelerin yanıltıcı doğasının bilincindedir ve bu da bizim maske ve yüzle ilgili referans noktalarımızı betimler:
Yüz bireyin karmaşık sıkıntılarını temsil eder.
Maske, sosyal kuralları ve dış görünüşü temsil eder. Pirandello’ya göre, bütün sosyal kurumlar ve düşünce sistemleri, din, hukuk, felsefe, ahlak vb., toplumun, yarattığı maskeyle, insanın yüzünü biçimlendirme ve onu sınıflandırma şekilleridir. Maske içsel gereksinimlerden veya taleplerden meydana gelebileceği gibi gerçekçi yada mecazi anlayışlardan da vücut bulabilir.

Sizi Pirandello’nun aynasından ‘Romeo ve Jüliet’in karakterlerine bakmaya davet ediyoruz ki yansısı tıpkı dünyanın gözü gibi bir iç bakıştır. Karakterler, seyirciyle güncel kalabilir, aynı dili konuşabilir ve tek bir gerçeklikte zamanın eridiği yerde seyirciyle birlikte var olabilirler: şimdiki zaman, William Shakespeare’in evrenselliği yoluyla yansıyor.

Luigi Pirandello

was the first author who brought the characters in front of the audience,

separating them from the "mask" of actors.
The main İdea behind the most Pirandello's plays is that humans try to give life a definition
but their concepts become illusions because life, reality, time, are fluid and indefineble.
Sometimes the man is aware of the illusionary nature of his concepts and this describes
the references to the Face and the Mask:
The Face represents the complex suffering of the individual.
The Mask represent the external form and the social laws.
For Pirandello
all social institutions and sistems of thought
religion, law, philosopfy, morality, etc.
are ways in which society creates a mask
fixing the face of the man by clasifying him...
The mask can be
construct by internal needs and demands
can be literal and also a metaphorical concept.

We provocate you to look at "Romeo and Juliet"'s characters through
Pirandello's looking glass
which reflection is the inner eye as well as the eye of the world.
They are contemporary with the audience
they speak same language and cohabitate same place
where times are melted in one single reality
the present reflected by the universality of
William Shakespeare.
